Dani Schmidt (they/she)

Dani Schmidt is a non-binary, neurodivergent, illustrator, painter, and art educator based in Amherst, MA and NYC. She is currently an MFA student at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA where she teaches fine art and conducts her research. She is a proud mom to her 4 year old daughter Dara and 9 year old dog Atticus. They graduated from UNH Manchester in 2013 with a BA in European History and also The Institute of Art and Design at New England College in 2021 with a BFA in illustration. They use both analog and digital mediums to create narrative-heavy work with organic themes and varying styles. Dani considers themselves to be a multidisciplinary visual storyteller, seeking to forge human connection through their art. In their artwork, they focus on organic life and nature as a consistent theme that is explored. She devotes much time to her personal projects such as illustrations for books, fine art, murals and more. Their goal is to use their art as a function of storytelling - one of the most time honored and important traditions of humanity.

I think my interest in different mediums satisfies different parts of myself emotionally and artistically. Y’all might have noticed a change on my profile- I’ve got a new logo!
